The guest conductor, Alton Thompson, then came on stage and conducted the orchestra as they played the Prelude to '49th Parallel' by Ralph Vaughan Williams. The prelude was by far my very favorite out of all of the pieces that the orchestra performed that night.... The music made me feel as if I was experiencing the greatest, most joyous part of my life. It was extremely moving.
